Plastic

  • #1-7 
  • Bottles (with lids)
  • Cups and tubs
  • Yogurt containers
  • Drink lids and straws
  • Forks, knives, spoons, sporks
  • Plastic wraps (bread bags, saran wrap, shrink wrap)
  • Plastic bags (chips, candy wrappers, etc)
  • Bubble wrap
  • Plastic grocery bags

Paper

  • White copy paper
  • Colored paper
  • White paper with colored ink
  • Envelopes
  • Legal paper
  • Manila folders
  • Post-it notes
  • Magazines and catalogues (staples are okay)
  • Note cards
  • Newspaper
  • Pasteboard (Cereal boxes, soda/beverage containers)
  • Paper bags
  • Wrapping paper

Metal

  • Aluminum cans
  • Foil (no food residue)
  • Steel/Tin cans
  • Pie plates
  • Aluminum baking pans and trays
  • Metal lids

Glass

  • All colors
  • Bottles
  • Jars

*Corrugated cardboard should be placed in the blue cardboard dumpsters throughout campus.

 

Items Not accepted for Single Stream
  • String / Twine
  • Styrofoam
  • Foil snack bags
  • Food Waste
  • Compostable containers
  • Incandescent light bulbs
  • Ceramics, mirrors, pyrex glass
  • Hazardous waste (paint, glues, pesticides, etc)

 

Special Recycling in Student Union
  • Storage devices
  • Techno-trash*
  • Batteries
  • Printer Cartridges
  • CFL bulbs (place in sealed plastic bag and drop off at the information desk)
  • Plastic grocery bags

*Techno-trash (everything but the computer itself including: storage devices, CD's, floppy disks, hard drives, Zip disks, cell phones and accessories, i-pods, empty print cartridges, cables, cords, parts of circuit boards, video tapes, PDA's, etc.) can also be recycled in Anne Belk Hall at Technology Support Services.
